Ombpoint is Australia's first workplace issue resolution (ombuds) service - akin to EAP service, but for workplace issues not mental health. Backed by Australia's largest national specialist workplace law firm, Ombpoint's key purpose is to work with employees of their client organisations to address workplace issues and concerns before they escalate into formal grievances.

About the Role

Given the unique blend of skills our client is seeking, they are looking for a seasoned professional who wants to stay engaged and deliver pragmatic solutions to employees across their client organisations. Given the nature of the work, this role is ideal for those seeking flexibility - whether that's while on parental leave, following a career break, or towards the end of a professional career. Most work is conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams or phone, making the role accessible to candidates across capital cities and regional centres. A Sydney base is preferred as the team is primarily located there and some with activities held in person - candidates based elsewhere are welcome but should be aware they would not be able to participate in those in-person team moments.

Our client is open to part-time or casual engagement arrangements and encourages candidates to discuss what works for them.

In this role you will:

• Have the opportunity to showcase your experience across a broad range of client organisations
• Help employees to problem solve - with the key aim of addressing issues before they become complaints
• Use your superior listening and questioning skills to understand the situation and develop actionable solutions for the employees of our client organsations

Our client is seeking people with substantial experience in problem solving with a commercial lens, preferably in HR and ER contexts. They are not looking to be prescriptive about backgrounds, but candidates from People and Culture/HR, or Employee Relations will be particularly well-suited. With clients spanning all sectors of Australian business and government, candidates with a speciality or deep connection to a particular sector are also encouraged to apply.

Our ideal candidate has:

• 7+ years of HR/ER experience
• Bachelor's degree, in HR or another relevant discipline.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Advanced problem-solving skills
• Ability to create and maintain strong rapport across people at all levels of business.
