Human Resources Officer
East Fremantle
Commencement: 21st September (1 week handover- 6 week contract to cover leave
Mon- Fri 8.30-4.30pm - could potentially be 3 days a week and are open to part time applicants.
$55-$60 per hour (dep on exp)
 
 Key Responsibilities: 
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and prioritising HR-related activities and enquiries across the organisation, including:

  • End-to-end recruitment, onboarding and probation management.
  • Employee relations and industrial relations advice and support.
  • Interpretation and application of the LGIA-IA, employment legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Preparation of formal employment documentation and correspondence, including employment offers, contracts, contract variations, salary letters, probation correspondence, injury management and other HR-related communications.
  • Workforce planning, position management and organisational development support.
  • Employee engagement, culture and recognition initiatives.
  • Maintenance of employee records and personnel files.
  • Work Health and Safety administration, injury management and return-to-work coordination.
  • Preparation of reports, briefing papers, policies, procedures and management documentation.
  • General HR, IR and WHS advisory and administrative support as required.

Requirements:
 

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Human Resources Management and at least three years' experience in a Human Resources Generalist role.
  • Local government experience preferred.
  • Current National Police Certificate.
  • Satisfactory pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening. The Town will cover the cost of this assessment.
  • Proof of Australian working rights (Australian birth certificate, Australian passport, or citizenship certificate - not suitable to visa holders).
  • Current and valid driver's licence.
