Barista

POSITION SUMMARY 

Are you warm, outgoing and passionate about creating exceptional coffee experiences? Pier One Sydney Harbour is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Barista to join our Food & Beverage team.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve consistently high-quality espresso coffee and other beverages.
• Provide warm, engaging and personalised service to every guest.
• Confidently operate and maintain commercial coffee equipment.
• Take guest orders accurately and process transactions efficiently.
• Use your knowledge of the menu to make recommendations and identify sales opportunities.
• Manage coffee orders efficiently during busy service periods.
• Maintain presentation, quality and consistency across all beverages.
• Monitor coffee beans, milk, takeaway supplies and other barista stock.
• Keep the coffee station clean, organised and fully stocked throughout service.
• Clean and maintain coffee machines, grinders and equipment in accordance with procedures.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Support the broader Food & Beverage team when required.

What We Value

• Previous barista training and experience.
• Strong knowledge of espresso preparation, milk texturing and coffee presentation.
• The ability to produce consistently high-quality beverages during busy service periods.
• A warm, positive and guest-focused personality.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• A collaborative attitude and willingness to support the wider team.
• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including early mornings, weekends and public holidays
