About the company/role:
Our client is a multinational dairy manufacturer based a short distance from Adelaide city. They are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their team on a part-time basis. This role will be required a minimum for 2-3 days/ week across Monday-Friday. The role will mainly be day shift (8am-3pm), however, some flexibility is required for afternoon or weekend work. Food Science graduates who are eager to gain experience in industry are welcome to apply!
 
Duties:

  • Performing microbial and chemical testing of finished product
  • Collecting samples and chemical analysis of water samples
  • Sensory evaluation of shelf life trials
  • Entering results in to LIMS
  • Packing and dispatch of samples
  • Filling of all log books and batch records for respective operations
  • Ensuring the laboratory is well stocked and resourced
  • Carrying out general laboratory duties including cleaning, waste disposal and preparation of different reagents   

Skills/experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Food Science or Microbiology
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understand the food manufacturing  industry including associated quality systems
  • Be a quick learner and able to work with minimal supervision
