About the role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join a Commonwealth Government client as an Engagement and Education Administrator at the APS6 level. This role is suited to individuals who enjoy working in a stakeholder-focused environment, supporting engagement initiatives, and contributing to improved service delivery outcomes. You will play a key role in coordinating activities, supporting strategic initiatives, and delivering high-quality administrative and project support.

An initial 12-month labour hire contract is on offer, with the possibility of extension up to 12 months. This is a full-time opportunity based in Canberra, ACT, with flexible working arrangements considered on a case-by-case basis.

Please note: only Australian citizens with the ability to obtain/maintain a Baseline security clearance can be considered for this role (an existing clearance is highly desirable). Appointment is subject to pre-engagement checks.

Duties:

  • Assist with developing and implementing a departmental strategic plan, and refreshment of the agency’s engagement framework.
  • Coordinate consultations to improve the agency’s engagement and support improved services for stakeholders.
  • Managing day-to-day communications and operational logistics, including providing secretariat support for forums and consultation groups.
  • Maintain and enhance engagement resources to support consistent information-sharing.
  • Assist with developing an annual plan for the agency’s participation in national peak body conferences, including a Request for Information (RFI) process and liaison with business areas.
  • Research and write communication and engagement materials.
  • Provide project-based input and support on initiatives, including website improvement activities.
  • Manage incoming inquiries to the email inbox, ensuring timely responses or escalation as required.

Requisite skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in project support, logistics, secretariat and/or high-level administration functions required.
  • Ability to effectively liaise with a range of stakeholders while supporting productive working relationships and coordinating and managing engagement activities.
  • Sound organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities and achieve results.
  • Demonstrated research and writing skills, including experience developing communication materials and communicating with influence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment, while displaying personal drive and integrity.
  • Ability to support strategic direction through proactive contribution, effective communication, and a focus on delivering results.
