Job Description
The Payroll Team Leader will be responsible for:
- Lead, coach and develop a team of Payroll Officers
- Oversee end-to-end payroll operations for a large and complex workforce
- Act as the escalation point for complex payroll matters
- Review and approve complex payroll calculations, including overpayments
- Drive process improvement initiatives across the payroll function
- Support payroll system enhancements, testing and transformation projects
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business
The Successful Applicant
A successful Payroll Team Leader should have:
- Proven experience training, supporting, and mentoring payroll teams in a high-volume environment
- Strong end-to-end payroll knowledge and technical capability
- Solid understanding of payroll legislation, compliance and reporting requirements
- Experience interpreting Awards, EBAs and complex employment agreements
- A hands-on leader who enjoys identifying opportunities for process improvement
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
