Job Description

The Payroll Team Leader will be responsible for:

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Payroll Officers
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll operations for a large and complex workforce
  • Act as the escalation point for complex payroll matters
  • Review and approve complex payroll calculations, including overpayments
  • Drive process improvement initiatives across the payroll function
  • Support payroll system enhancements, testing and transformation projects
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business

The Successful Applicant

A successful Payroll Team Leader should have:

  • Proven experience training, supporting, and mentoring payroll teams in a high-volume environment
  • Strong end-to-end payroll knowledge and technical capability
  • Solid understanding of payroll legislation, compliance and reporting requirements
  • Experience interpreting Awards, EBAs and complex employment agreements
  • A hands-on leader who enjoys identifying opportunities for process improvement
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
