- Strengthen supplier relationship management governance and monitoring across the organisation.
- Provide expert guidance and strategic support to internal stakeholders on managing critical suppliers.
- Develop and implement robust risk management strategies for key suppliers.
Your purpose
The Supplier Relationship Specialist is a crucial role within the Procurement team, focused on strengthening supplier relationship management (SRM) governance and monitoring across the organisation. This role acts as a center of expertise, supporting Account Executives and Contract Owners in embedding best practices for managing existing key supplier relationships, particularly those deemed high-risk, high-value, or material.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and experienced professional with a proven track record in supplier relationship management, governance, and risk mitigation, ideally within the insurance or financial services industry.
This role does not own the supplier relationships directly; instead, it empowers the existing relationship owners. This role focuses on the strategic direction and implementation of the Supplier Risk Management Policy and Operational Framework, leveraging the support of the Governance and Reporting Officer for data collection and report generation, and working in close collaboration with Procurement Specialists who manage the sourcing and selection process of high value or material suppliers.
The role
-
Shape Governance: Contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of our comprehensive SRM governance framework, including policies, procedures, and best practices.
-
Provide Expertise: Offer expert guidance and strategic support to internal stakeholders on managing critical suppliers, covering performance, risk, and dispute resolution.
-
Drive Performance Monitoring: Define strategies for post-contract award performance monitoring, collaborating on data analysis to provide insightful reporting to stakeholders.
-
Manage Risk: Develop and implement robust risk management strategies for key suppliers, identifying potential risks, overseeing mitigation, and maintaining our risk register.
-
Optimise Contracts: Provide strategic guidance on contract management best practices, ensuring alignment with SRM governance and focusing on complex contract reviews.
-
Seamless Integration: Collaborate closely with Procurement Specialists to ensure smooth transitions from sourcing to ongoing supplier relationship management.
-
Build Capability: Design and deliver training programs to upskill Account Executives and Contract Owners in SRM best practices and tools.
-
Continuous Improvement: Drive the continuous review and enhancement of SRM governance, leveraging feedback, industry insights, and performance data.
-
Engage Stakeholders: Build and nurture strong relationships with internal stakeholders across all levels of the business, fostering a culture of effective supplier management.
