Are you an experienced HR professional who enjoys solving problems, supporting leaders and making a genuine difference to the employee experience?
PCYC Queensland is looking for a People and Performance Advisor to join our busy People and Performance team. This is a varied generalist HR role where no two days are the same. You’ll work closely with leaders and employees across the organisation, providing practical advice, coaching and support across a broad range of people matters.
Reporting to the People and Performance Manager, you’ll be a trusted partner to our leaders, helping them confidently navigate day-to-day performance, conduct and employee matters.
Your days will be varied, with opportunities to:
- Coach and support managers through performance, conduct and disciplinary matters
- Undertake workplace investigations and provide sound, practical advice
- Interpret and provide advice on policies, procedures, legislation and industrial instruments
- Prepare HR correspondence, documentation and case management records
- Attend meetings and support leaders through challenging people matters
- Respond to HR queries from across the organisation
- Maintain accurate employee information in TechnologyOne
- Review wage calculations and manage paid parental leave payments
- Generate HR and training reports and contribute to People & Performance projects
- Build strong relationships with leaders, employees and key stakeholders across PCYC
- Travel to PCYC locations across Queensland, sometimes at short notice
We’re looking for someone who brings energy, sound judgement and a genuine desire to help people. You’ll be comfortable managing competing priorities, working through complex matters and providing advice with confidence, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Most importantly, you’ll understand that good HR isn’t just about policies and processes. It’s about people, relationships and helping leaders create workplaces where employees can thrive.
About You
You’ll bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar generalist HR role
- Demonstrated experience undertaking workplace investigations and managing performance and disciplinary matters
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation and industrial instruments, with the ability to interpret and apply them in a practical way
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work confidently with people at all levels
- Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to work through challenging situations
