Project Managers - NV1/NV2 with PV Preferred

  • Long term Contract roles – Federal Government Department
  • 12 months plus 2 year extensions
  • Canberra Onsite - 1 July 2026 start (to be negotiated)
  • Australian Citizenship with active NV1/NV2 security clearance. PV/PA clearance highly desirable.

About the Roles:

We are seeking experienced Project Managers to join a high-performing and fast paced team. The Project Managers will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of project governance and reporting frameworks to ensure successful delivery of projects within the program. They will work closely with stakeholders to provide high-level advice, track and report on project progress, and maintain awareness of business and program priorities. The ideal candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience in project management and governance.

Key responsibilities and tasks:

  • Developing, implementing, and managing project governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with organisational standards.
  • Designing and implementing project reporting structures, including dashboards, metrics, and KPIs to track project progress and performance.
  • Providing high-level, timely, and accurate advice to project teams and stakeholders on project governance and reporting requirements.
  • Identifying, analysing, and reporting on project risks, issues, and dependencies, and developing mitigation plans and tactics.
  • Collaborating with project teams to develop and manage project plans, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Ensuring project deliverables meet business and program requirements, and are

delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

  • Developing and maintaining project documentation, including project charters, scope statements, and status reports.
  • Coordinating and facilitating project meetings, including project steering committees, working groups, and other stakeholder forums.
  • Working closely with relevant project managers, capability leads to ensure alignment with overall program objectives and priorities.
  • Providing coaching and guidance to project team members on project management best practices and governance requirements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and external agencies to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Participating in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives to improve project governance and reporting practices.

Skills and capability:

  • Tertiary degree in Project Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Must have active NV1 or NV2 clearance and be willing to undergo a TS PV clearance process.
  • Minimum of 10 years demonstrated experience working as a project manager, preferably in government agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement project governance frameworks and reporting structures.
  • Contemporary knowledge of project management frameworks, methodologies, practices, and tools (e.g. Agile, Waterfall, PRINCE2).
  • Demonstrated experience in project reporting, risk management, and quality assurance.
  • Well-demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders and facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility in planning and managing available resources against changing and competing demands.
  • Proficient in using project management tools and software (e.g. MS Project, JIRA, Power BI).
  • Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams and external agencies to align project strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Expertise in fostering positive and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, promoting open dialogue and mutual understanding across stakeholders.

  • Duration: 12 months with extensions x 2 years
  • Location: ACT - Onsite in Canberra
  • Australian Citizenship with active NV1/NV2 security clearance. PV/PA clearance highly desirable. Must be able to attain Positive Vetting.
