About the Company
Our client is an established concrete precast manufacturing and supply business delivering products across a diverse range of projects, including commercial developments, logistics and warehouse facilities, petrol stations, office buildings and residential developments.
With the business currently experiencing strong growth, they are looking to add an experienced Carpenter / Formworker to their precast manufacturing team.
About the Role Working within a busy precast manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for preparing and assembling formwork and moulds used in the production of precast concrete panels.
You will work from approved IFC shop drawings, ensuring moulds, inserts and panel details are accurately set out while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Reading and interpreting precast shop drawings
- Setting out work areas and determining required materials
- Cutting, assembling and joining timber formwork and moulds
- Laying out panel details and assembling moulds
- Setting out and marking inserts in line with approved drawings
- Ensuring magnets, fixings and bracing are correctly positioned
- Working closely with production and QA teams
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Identifying hazards and implementing appropriate controls
- Ensuring work is completed in line with production targets
Job Requirements To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Certificate III in Carpentry or Formwork/Falsework
- Minimum 2 years' experience within carpentry, formwork or precast
- Previous precast construction/manufacturing experience
- Ability to confidently read and interpret IFC/shop drawings
- Good understanding of OH&S and safe working requirements
- White Card / Construction Induction Card
- Current driver's licence
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work within a team
- Good communication skills
- Full Australian working rights preferred
- Forklift licence advantageous
- Previous concrete industry experience advantageous
