The opportunity

Due to internal movement, an opportunity has opened up for an Administration Officer within a specialty business unit of a leading national supplier. Based at a busy distribution centre in Eagle Farm, you will work alongside the business manager as the key link between the DC and the Queensland branches.

When a branch needs an answer about a delivery, or something has gone wrong and needs chasing, you will be the person they call. You will investigate the issue, work with the supervisors on the DC floor and make sure it is resolved quickly. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast paced warehouse and logistics environment, enjoys building strong relationships and takes pride in getting things right.

What you will be doing

  • Acting as the key point of contact between the DC and the Queensland branches
  • Following up branch queries about deliveries and issues promptly, and seeing them through to resolution
  • Liaising with the supervisors on the DC floor to resolve issues as a matter of priority
  • Investigating problems and applying a structured, process driven approach to fix them
  • Supporting warehouse operations, including inventory management, receipting and picking
  • Building a thorough understanding of how the sales and logistics operations work
  • Assisting with the yearly stocktake, which may involve ad hoc weekend work

What you will bring

  • High attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A process driven mindset
  • Strong problem solving and investigative abilities
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
  • An eagerness to learn and develop
  • Willingness to work ad hoc weekends where required, such as the yearly stocktake

Why this role

This is not a desk bound admin job. You will sit at the centre of the relationship between the branches and the DC, with a mix of office work and hands on warehouse exposure, so every day brings variety. You will also learn the sales and logistics operations from the inside, which gives you a real opportunity to grow.
