About the role 

We have an exciting opportunity for a driven and commercially minded Trade Account Manager to help grow our presence across the Greater Brisbane region.

This role offers the best of both worlds – with an equal focus on winning new business and growing existing customer relationships. You'll spend your time identifying new opportunities, opening doors with prospective customers, and partnering closely with established trade accounts to drive long-term growth and loyalty.

To be successful, you'll bring proven sales experience in a Sales Representative, Account Manager, or similar role, along with strong relationship-building skills and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service. Experience within the building, trade, hardware, or construction industry will be highly regarded, as will strong product knowledge that enables you to provide practical solutions and trusted advice to your customers.

As a self-motivated and results-driven professional, you'll thrive in a target-focused environment and have a track record of achieving sales growth through both proactive business development and effective account management. Most importantly, you'll enjoy being out in the field, building lasting customer partnerships, and adding real value to the businesses you support.

About you 

  • Consistently achieve sales, margin and product mix targets 

  • Ability to attract new customers in addition to growing existing business 

  • Analysis of sales and customer data to identify new opportunities 

  • Effective management of a diverse Builder centric customer base 

  • Development and implementation of sales plan and initiatives 

  • Responsible for communicating and representing both Finlayson’s and wider TTHG (Total Tools Hardware Group) brands to key industry stakeholders through sales meetings, training and industry events. 

What you will bring to the role  

  • A strong ability to develop and maintain B2B relationships and influence decision-making.  

  • A comprehensive understanding and previous experience in the building industry with a focus on the timber and hardware categories.  

  • Previous experience in a similar sales role.  

  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills are essential. A sound business acumen with the ability to understand relevant financials.

Our key customer base ranges from high end builder and renovation specialists, to commercial projects, to project builders to owner builders. Backed by a market leader in the hardware space, we have the resources of a large business but the agility and nimbleness of independence. 

Finlayson’s is part of the Total Tools Hardware Group and is a wholly owned entity of Metcash Limited.
