Organisational Change Manager

KEY POINTS WE FOUND
  • Lead organisational change initiatives within a Federal Government department.
  • Partner with senior executives to assess readiness and coordinate change delivery.
  • Develop and implement transition plans and stakeholder communication strategies.

An experienced Organisational Change Manager is required for a 12-month contract.

Your new company
A Federal Government department operating in a complex and evolving environment is seeking an experienced Organisational Change Manager to support the successful delivery of significant organisational priorities. The department has a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce and is navigating several interconnected initiatives, creating an opportunity to influence change at both strategic and operational levels.
Your new role
Working across the department, you will build a whole-of-organisation view of the current change environment and guide an integrated approach to transition. You will partner with senior executives, leaders and teams to assess readiness, identify dependencies and pressure points, and coordinate the delivery of concurrent initiatives while minimising disruption.
You will provide clear and practical advice to executives, shape transition and communication plans, monitor the impact of change and strengthen leadership capability. A key focus will be creating shared understanding across work areas and supporting leaders to confidently own, embed and sustain change beyond the engagement.
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing the organisations readiness for change and developing a clear view of the broader change landscape
  • Mapping competing initiatives, impacts, dependencies, risks and resource constraints
  • Developing an adaptive transition plan and integrated stakeholder communication approach
  • Facilitating constructive dialogue and collaboration across diverse work areas
  • Providing regular executive reporting and advice on emerging issues, priorities and decisions
  • Supporting senior leaders to navigate uncertainty and build sustainable change capability

What you'll need to succeed
You will be an accomplished organisational change practitioner with a demonstrated record of leading large-scale transformation in APS agencies or similarly complex operating environments. You will bring strong expertise in organisational readiness, transition planning, stakeholder engagement, communications and the management of overlapping change initiatives.
Your ability to influence at executive level, build trust across geographically dispersed teams and translate complexity into practical action will be critical. You will be comfortable working with ambiguity, capable of identifying cultural and leadership considerations, and committed to leaving lasting capability within the organisation. Relevant qualifications and experience at a senior professional contractor level will be highly regarded.
What you'll get in return
This is an opportunity to lead meaningful, high-impact change within a significant Federal Government setting. You will work closely with senior decision-makers, influence organisation-wide priorities and help establish practical frameworks that strengthen the departments ability to manage future change.
