At the end of Year 6, students also transition to Kadina Memorial School from three local primary schools: Bute Primary School, Wallaroo Primary School, and Wallaroo Mines Primary School. This strong network of partnerships ensures continuity of learning and a shared commitment to supporting every student to reach their full potential.

We are looking for a classroom and disability support officer to assist teaching staff. You will provide inclusive education support to students with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours by taking on a range of school and classroom duties, including classroom literacy and numeracy programmes both 1:1 and in small groups of students. You’ll also support with clerical tasks to ensure the smooth running of a classroom.

What you will need:

• Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with students, staff and parents from a diversity of backgrounds.

• Ability to provide effective classroom support and use information to enhance student learning and wellbeing, particularly in a 1:1 setting/small groups.

• Knowledge of strategies to support improved learning outcomes and wellbeing of students with learning difficulties, disabilities and / or challenging behaviours.
