Outside Marketer Membership Assistant Full Time

Description of position Entry level role. Meets with current and prospective members to increase membership sign ups and warehouse sales. Attends and participates in local community events to promote excellent community relations. Contacts expired members to encourage membership renewals

Daily tasks and responsibilities:·

• Canvasses businesses in person and by phone to promote membership and foster sales
• Calls expired members from computer list to remind about membership renewal
• Contacts business members about special promotions, new items and road shows, using persuasive skills to promote memberships
• Meets with large businesses to discuss employee membership eligibility. Schedules and conducts on-site membership sign up events
• Completes daily activity log and tracks sales increases, sign ups, appointments, calls and incentive program
• Prepares periodic profit and loss statement for business development and membership marketing results
• Promotes good community relations by attending and participating in local community events
• Creates and tracks membership incentive programs

• Welcomes and communicates with members and potential members, in person, by phone, or by mail. Answers questions, resolves problems, and explains membership, warehouse, and credit programs. Reviews membership, warehouse, and credit programs to keep knowledge up to date.
• Provides and arranges for prompt and courteous member service. Answers phone, runs to the floor to check item availability, directs members to product and service locations. Enlists assistance for member loading or shopping. Responds helpfully to member concerns, secures manager assistance as necessary.
• Processes new memberships and membership maintenance. Keys membership information into computer, keeps logs and paperwork, obtains supervisor approvals when necessary. Follows departmental procedures for paperwork and performance of duties.
• Follows all safety and security procedures. Verifies identity, business information for memberships.
• Collects membership dues as keyed to computer by check, cash, and debit/credit terminal. Issues receipts.
• Issues membership cards using computer, camera, and automated card printer. Issues temporary cards by researching membership information in computer and hand writing card. Issues employee name badges.
• Keys credit applications; conforms to credit card company practices for verifications, confidentiality, access and discretion.
• Assists at refund counter or with marketing as necessary. Cleans department, Stocks forms and cleans and supplies printers.
• Observes staff leaving at night in own secure car to ensure safety of staff.

Non-Essential Functions and Tasks:·

• Assists with front end duties as necessary
• Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary
• Qualifications
  Driver’s License required
• Sales experience preferred
• Computer, math, customer service experience preferred

This is an entry level position and is paid at an hourly rate of pay. There is no commission with this position.
