Located on Hamilton Island’s lively Front Street, our popular Pizzeria and Gelato Bar is a family favourite serving up gourmet wood-fired pizzas, house-made gelato, and barista coffee in a relaxed, beachfront setting.
We’re seeking an energetic and experienced Assistant Manager to help lead this busy casual dining venue. Your Role
As Assistant Manager, you’ll work closely with the Restaurant Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Pizzeria and Gelato Bar. You’ll oversee daily operations, lead and motivate your front-of-house team, and maintain high standards of service, quality, and presentation.
Where you’ll make an impact
Lead daily shifts and ensure seamless venue operations
Support and step in for the Restaurant Manager as required
Coordinate between kitchen and FOH teams to deliver friendly, efficient service
Train, mentor, and motivate staff to achieve consistent quality standards
Manage labour costs, inventory, and wastage to support financial targets
Oversee rosters, performance reviews, and team development
Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and health regulations
Assist with marketing initiatives, promotions, and special events
What we’re looking for
You’re a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume setting. You have a genuine passion for food, people, and service, and enjoy fostering a fun, motivated team culture.
To be successful, you’ll need:
Minimum 2 years’ Food & Beverage experience, including leadership or supervisory roles
Strong understanding of pizza or casual dining operations
Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
Leadership ability with a focus on training and mentoring
Solid understanding of cost control and stock management
Queensland RSA Certificate (Essential)
Current Driver’s Licence (Essential)
Professional presentation and a positive, can-do attitude
