Job description:
Based in West Footscray at ACC Higgins Pty Ltd we require an individual to join us who holds a strong desire to work with our experienced team.
With employment will come the primary duties of working in our wood machining department, where you will machine the various types of Materials including Solid Timber, Mdf and Particle board.
Previous experience in this type of field is essential, with specific experience on moulding and cutting machines, panel saws and thicknessers being sought some router experience is also beneficial.
Key responsibilities
·Study drawings, work orders and sample parts to determine specifications
·Determine tooling and machine requirements and sequence of operations
·Set up woodworking machines and wood stock for correct cutting, planning, turning, shaping and sanding
·Operate machines to cut, plane, turn, shape and sand work pieces
·Remove old finishes by stripping with steel wool and glasspaper, and by applying solvents and paint strippers
·Remove softened finishes by scraping
·Apply varnish, shellac, lacquer, stains and paint to surfaces
Polish and wax finished surfaces
AQF Certificate 3 including at least 3 years on the job training and AQF Certificate 4
At least 3 years of full time experience as a Wood Machinist is a requirement.
Additonal Training may be undertaken.
ACC Higgins offers you secure employment and above award wages. Some overtime hours may be required from time to time.
