About the organisation
Our client is one of Melbourne's most recognised and loved organisations, with a large and engaged audience. As it builds a more connected, personalised experience for its customers, it is investing in specialist digital capability as part of a multi-year digital roadmap.
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Digital, the Website Manager is a newly created role that leads the strategy, optimisation and governance of the organisation's public-facing websites.
You'll inherit a strong foundation: solid governance, a high-performing retained web agency, no technical debt and search performance already tracking well. The opportunity is to take the website to its next stage. You'll begin by developing a two-year website roadmap, then lead its delivery. Newly created role, 2-year fixed-term contract.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and lead a website roadmap across conversion rate optimisation, SEO and AEO, accessibility, performance and UX.
- Use analytics, research and testing to create audience-centred content and journeys that drive engagement and commercial outcomes.
- Manage a retained web agency and specialist vendors, delivering projects on time and on budget.
- Lead website governance and reporting, including accessibility, security and performance.
- Act as subject matter expert on the next evolution of the organisation's website platform.
- Lead and develop a Digital Marketing Advisor responsible for web publishing.
- Bring structure to the website function through documented processes and clear ways of working.
About you
You're a website specialist who combines strategic thinking with strong project delivery. You can assess a website and its data, set a clear direction and explain it with confidence to senior stakeholders.
You'll bring:
- 5+ years' experience managing websites, content management systems, analytics and reporting.
- A track record of developing and delivering website roadmaps with measurable improvements in conversion, search visibility, accessibility or performance.
- Strong project management skills and experience managing digital agencies or technology vendors. Agency or consulting experience is highly regarded.
- Working knowledge of WordPress (or a similar CMS), GA4, Search Console and optimisation tools such as heat mapping and A/B testing.
- A calm, collaborative and structured approach, plus a genuine passion for customer and audience experience.
What's on offer
- A newly created role with clear scope and the backing of a high-performing team
- Budget to introduce new search and optimisation tools
- Hybrid working (3:2), anchor day on Wednesdays
- The chance to shape the digital experience of one of Melbourne's best-known organisations
