Apex B&C Group is a Queensland-licensed construction company servicing Brisbane and the Gold Coast. We undertake a diverse range of projects, including commercial fit-outs and shopfitting, residential renovations and extensions, general building works, structural works, outdoor and landscaping projects, and project management.

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Wall and Floor Tiler to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will work across residential and commercial construction projects throughout Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Wall and Floor Tiler, your duties will include:

·Examining plans, measuring surfaces and determining tile layouts and material requirements.

·Preparing wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, adhesives and other materials as required.

·Cleaning, levelling and preparing surfaces prior to tiling.

·Applying waterproofing systems and preparing wet areas in accordance with project requirements.

·Measuring, marking and cutting tiles to fit around corners, edges, fixtures and other obstacles.

·Preparing and applying adhesives, mortar and other bonding materials.

·Laying ceramic, porcelain, stone and other wall and floor tiles accurately and to the required pattern.

·Ensuring tiles are correctly aligned, levelled and evenly spaced.

·Applying grout, sealants and finishing materials to tiled surfaces.

·Carrying out screeding and surface preparation where required.

·Repairing, replacing and maintaining damaged or existing tiled surfaces.

·Checking completed work to ensure a high standard of finish and compliance with project specifications.

·Reading and interpreting plans, drawings and specifications relevant to tiling works.

·Coordinating with supervisors, builders and other trades to ensure work is completed efficiently.

·Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and clean condition.

·Following workplace health and safety requirements and company procedures at all times.

Skills and Experience:

The successful applicant should have:

·At least three (3) years of practical experience undertaking wall and floor tiling in residential and/or commercial construction.

·Strong knowledge of surface preparation, tile laying, waterproofing, grouting and finishing techniques.

·Ability to accurately measure, cut and install different types and sizes of tiles.

·Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.

·Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finishes.

·Good time-management and organisational skills.

·Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a construction team.

·Good communication skills and a professional attitude.

·Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.

·Physical fitness and ability to undertake the manual duties associated with the trade.

·A valid driver’s licence and the ability to travel to project sites across Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
