Your new role
We are seeking a Traffic Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of transport and traffic projects, providing technical expertise to improve road safety, traffic flow, and network efficiency across a growing local government area.

  • Conduct traffic and transport investigations, analysis, and assessments to identify and resolve safety and network efficiency issues.
  • Develop and deliver traffic engineering projects, including concept design, planning, community consultation, and implementation.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance on traffic, transport, road safety, and engineering matters to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Apply relevant traffic engineering, road safety, and transport planning standards, policies, and legislation.
  • Prepare technical reports, interpret traffic modelling outputs, and undertake intersection and network analysis.
  • Liaise with customers, contractors, consultants, government agencies, and the community to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records, systems, and databases while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and compliant work practices.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Transport Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a Traffic Engineer or similar transport engineering role.
  • Knowledge of traffic engineering standards, transport planning principles, road design practices, and relevant legislation.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills, along with a current C Class Driver's Licence.
