Trade Assistant / Workshop Labourer
Rate: $34 - $ 39 per hour + super
Location: Richlands, QLD
Employment Type: Casual / Contract 6months - transfer to permanent!
Full-time hours: 6 AM - 230 PM
Are you hands-on, mechanically minded, and experienced working with pipe processing equipment?
We are currently looking for a reliable Trade Assistant / Workshop Labourer to join a busy workshop based in Richlands.
This role will primarily focus on the day-to-day processing and preparation of smaller pipework, helping the workshop team keep up with ongoing production demands.
What You'll Be Doing
- Cutting, roll grooving and threading pipework
- Operating roll groovers and pipe threading machines
- Using pedestal drills and other workshop machinery
- Measuring and preparing pipework to required specifications
- Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Assisting with general pipework and component preparation
- Completing work in line with daily production requirements
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop
- Supporting the wider workshop team when required
About You We're looking for someone practical, reliable and comfortable working in a hands-on workshop environment.
Ideally, you'll have:
- Previous experience as a Trade Assistant, Workshop Labourer or similar
- Experience cutting, roll grooving and/or threading pipe
- Confidence operating workshop machinery and using hand and power tools
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow measurements and instructions
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to work independently and keep up with daily production requirements
- Good reliability and punctuality
- Forklift licence preferred but not essential
Experience within pipe fabrication, mechanical, plumbing, manufacturing or a similar workshop environment would be highly regarded.
