We are seeking an experienced and passionate Tours Manager to lead our Touring Department and deliver exceptional cultural tourism experiences. This is an exciting opportunity for a tourism leader who combines operational excellence, commercial acumen and a passion for Indigenous culture to drive business performance and create unforgettable guest experiences.

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the overall success of the Touring Department, leading a team of Tour Guides, Team Leaders and Coordinators while overseeing daily operations, product development, sales growth and guest satisfaction.

You'll play a key role in shaping the future of cultural tourism at Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre, developing authentic experiences that connect visitors with Indigenous culture while ensuring strong commercial outcomes and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Co-ordination of the daily touring activities with the assistance of the Tours Team Leaders
  • Providing authentic quality cultural experiences to Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre’s (MGCC) guests
  • Take responsibility for the development of new cultural touring products and experiences
  • Take the lead for MGCC’s Cultural Reference Group
  • In conjunction with the Sales Relations Officer, ensure all familiarisations and media requests are delivered

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Previous leadership experience within tourism, hospitality, visitor attractions or cultural experiences.
  • A genuine passion for Indigenous tourism and cultural storytelling.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience building partnerships and maintaining strong relationships with industry contacts and community stakeholders.
  • Certificate IV in Tourism (Tour Guiding) or similar tourism qualification.
  • Senior First Aid Certificate, or the ability to obtain one.
  • Current Blue Card.
  • Knowledge of the local region, Indigenous culture and tourism industry is highly regarded.
