THERAPEUTIC YOUTH WORKER - PART TIME
- Provide trauma-informed care and support to children and young people in residential care.

About the Role
As a Therapeutic Youth Worker, you will provide trauma-informed care and support to children and young people living in residential care who have experienced trauma, abuse, and neglect. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will help create a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where young people can build resilience, develop life skills, and achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Build safe, therapeutic relationships with children and young people.
- Provide daily care, household support, transport, and routine activities.
- Support education, appointments, employment, and community participation.
- Implement therapeutic care plans, behaviour support strategies, and safety plans.
- Respond to complex behaviours using trauma-informed and de-escalation practices.
- Administer medication and maintain accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with families, Child Safety, schools, and allied professionals.
- Promote the safety, wellbeing, and cultural identity of every young person.
About You
- Experience supporting children, young people, or adults with complex needs.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.
- Current Blue Card, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain), National Police Check, First Aid & CPR, and unrestricted Australian Driver Licence.
- Diploma desired or Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Community Services, Youth Work, Mental Health, Disability, or a related field.
