Speech Pathologist
- Manage a mobile NDIS caseload with a focus on paediatric clients.
- Conduct assessments, therapy, and individualised planning for communication and swallowing.
- Work independently with dedicated administrative support and flexible scheduling.
Our client is a clinician-owned NDIS allied health provider in Sydney, with a multidisciplinary team across Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Behaviour Support & Psychology. The business has been built with clinicians in mind - keeping the team out of administration, with dedicated support staff handling referrals, service agreements, funding & school liaison.
This is a replacement role with a caseload ready to go & a steady referral flow. The outgoing clinician has done an incredible job, though is leaving Australia - an early to mid-October start suits or sooner if you are available.
The role is mobile across Sydney Metro & is fully remote. A base in Parramatta or Western Sydney would work well with the existing caseload, or Eastern Suburbs/other areas in Greater Sydney could work well too.
The Role
- Manage a mobile NDIS caseload, approximately 60-70% paediatric with the balance adults, ages 2 to 65+
- Assessment, therapy & individualised planning across communication, speech, language & swallowing
- Progress notes & reporting in line with NDIS practice standards
- Deliver sessions in homes, at schools or via telehealth
- Occasional aged care referrals, though aged care experience is not essential
- Caseload grouped geographically where possible, being mindful of travel time
- Existing clients across Blacktown, Campbelltown, Liverpool, Parramatta & Eastern Suburbs
- Weekly target of 25 billable hours, 5 hours a day over 5 days - notably, this includes all travel
- A typical day of 4 clients plus travel generally equates to 6 billable hours
- Regular supervision with the Speech Supervisor
The Benefits
- Salary up to $110K + Super, in line with experience
- Achievable performance incentive - ability to comfortably earn c.$25K/year for hours above target
- Kilometres reimbursed door to door, separate from your salary & incentive (currently an additional $400-500/week)
- Contractor arrangement available at up to approximately $130 per billable hour + GST
- $1500/year Professional Development Allowance
- Weekly supervision for a junior clinician, monthly for the more experienced, with a Speech Pathologist of 20 years' experience
- Dedicated administration support covering referrals, service agreements, school clearances & scheduling
- MacBook & phone provided
- No clinic roster or set start time, so you build your own week - weekend work is fine if you prefer it
- Compressed 4-day week available - the current clinician sees on average 5 clients a day across 4 days & takes Fridays off!
- Face-to-face induction in the CBD
- Full-time or part-time considered, & they are open to 2 clinicians splitting the regions, for example Northwest/Western Sydney & Eastern Suburbs
What sets this organisation apart?
- Clinician-led, & structured so the admin sits with the admin team rather than with you
- A full caseload from day one with consistent referrals, rather than one you have to build
- Multidisciplinary team across Speech Pathology, OT, Behaviour Support & Psychology
- Supervision from an experienced Speech Pathologist, weekly if you would like
- Autonomy over your schedule, which suits someone who would rather run their own week than sit in an office
The Ideal Candidate
- Speech Pathology Australia membership, or eligibility for membership
- Around 6 months' experience is enough, the team is set up to support a relatively junior clinician - experienced Speech Pathologists also warmly welcome to apply
- Comfortable working with children, as the caseload is mostly paediatric
- Happy with mobile work & driving across Sydney Metro
- Organised, reliable & responsive
- Able to work independently without close supervision
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check & driver's licence
- Eligible to work in Australia
