We are currently seeking a Safety, Health, Environment and Training Specialist based on site at Jellinbah mine site, located near Blackwater.  

Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will be confident managing multiple complex priorities while building strong relationships and positively influencing key stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.

This role will operate on a Monday to Friday roster.

DIDO from Rockhampton / Gladstone / Emerald / Mackay regions or FIFO from Brisbane Airport.

Camp accommodation and meals will be provided or local housing allowance for Blackwater local.

 Key role tasks: 

  • Lead SHET requirements and coordinate organisational initiatives.
  • Develop, implement and monitor project-specific SHE monitoring programs.
  • Monitor SHE management plans and recommend improvements.
  • Provide SHE risk-based input to project communications.
  • Preparation of investigations and investigation reports within SAI360
  • Facilitate ICAM investigations and preparation of investigation reports as required.
  • Provide support for injury management and RTW requirements for injured employees.
  • Monitor site TNA and site Training.
  • Provide support for the Golding pre-employment medicals and ongoing health surveillance requirements.
  • Develop and deliver SHE information, including inductions, in line with sustainability requirements.
  • Contribute to broader Golding SHE improvement initiatives.

Key capability requirements: 

  • Degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety;
  • Minimum 5 years project-based experience within the mining industry with proven exposure to safety, health, environment and training systems application, compliance and coaching;
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance working environments;
  • Ability to understand and apply relevant legislation;
  • A clear understanding of risk management principles;
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and develop risk assessments;
  • Experience in SHE auditing, incident reporting and incident investigation.
