About the Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain websites, web applications and mobile applications for our clients.

You will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from analysing client requirements and preparing technical specifications to coding, testing, deployment and ongoing maintenance. You will work with clients and internal team members to deliver reliable, secure and maintainable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse client business requirements and translate them into functional requirements, technical specifications and development tasks.
• Design software architecture, application components, databases and interfaces for customised web and mobile applications.
• Develop and maintain responsive websites, web applications and mobile applications, including front-end interfaces and back-end services.
• Develop, configure and customise content management systems, e-commerce platforms and CRM solutions to meet client requirements.
• Design and implement APIs and integrate applications with third-party services, including payment gateways, CRM platforms and other business systems.
• Write, review and maintain clean, efficient and reusable code using appropriate development frameworks, coding standards and version control practices.
• Prepare and execute unit and integration tests, and test applications across relevant browsers and mobile devices.
• Investigate and resolve software defects, integration failures, compatibility issues and performance problems.
• Implement application security controls and improve software performance, reliability and scalability.
• Deploy software releases, assist with user acceptance testing and support the handover of completed solutions to clients.
• Maintain and enhance existing client applications through troubleshooting, updates and the development of new features.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation covering application designs, database structures, integrations, testing and deployment procedures.
• Collaborate with designers, project stakeholders and other technical team members to deliver projects within agreed requirements and timeframes.

Qualifications and Experience

• A relevant qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated experience developing websites, web applications and/or mobile applications.
• Practical knowledge of front-end and back-end development, including relevant programming languages and frameworks.
• Experience working with databases, APIs and third-party system integrations.
• Understanding of software design principles, testing, debugging, application security and version control.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to code quality and maintainability.
• Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to clients and colleagues.
• The ability to manage development tasks and work both independently and collaboratively.
