The Opportunity:
ROUSSOS Recruitment is partnering with an established commercial builder to identify an experienced Site Manager or Senior Site Manager ready to take the next step in their career and transition into a Project Manager role.
This is a unique opportunity for a construction professional who has built their career delivering projects on site and is now looking to broaden their experience across the full project lifecycle.
Working across commercial projects typically valued between $10M and $40M, you will be supported as you develop your project management capability, gaining greater exposure to programming, procurement, contracts, cost management, client relationships and overall project delivery.
You don't need to have held the title of Project Manager previously. What matters is that you have the construction experience, leadership capability and commercial understanding to make the transition successfully.
The Role:
Initially drawing on your strong site-based experience, you will take increasing responsibility for the broader management and delivery of your projects.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the delivery of commercial construction projects from commencement through to completion
- Working closely with Site Managers, subcontractors, consultants, clients and internal stakeholders
- Supporting project programming, procurement and construction planning
- Managing project costs, variations, contracts and commercial outcomes
- Coordinating consultants, authorities and project stakeholders
- Monitoring programme, quality, safety and project performance
- Identifying and resolving project issues and construction challenges
- Maintaining strong client relationships and communication throughout delivery
- Taking increasing ownership of the overall project as you transition into the Project Manager role

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager or Senior Site Manager who is ready to broaden their responsibilities and take the next step into Project Management.
You will ideally bring:
- Proven experience delivering commercial construction projects valued between $10M and $40M
- Strong site management experience with the ability to lead projects, trades and subcontractors
- Sound understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing and programming
- Exposure to project administration, procurement, variations and commercial processes
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to project delivery
- The ambition and capability to step beyond site management into a broader project leadership role
Most importantly, you will be someone who is ready for the next challenge. You may not have held a Project Manager title before, but you have the experience, maturity and understanding of construction to make the transition.
