Full Job Description

Zenergy is partnering with a leading organisation to appoint an experienced Site HSE Manager for a major data centre construction project in Sydney.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced safety professional to take a senior site-based role on a large-scale, technically complex construction project. Working closely with the project leadership team, contractors and subcontractors, you will be responsible for driving a strong safety culture and ensuring HSE standards are maintained throughout delivery.

About the role

As Site HSE Manager, you will lead HSE activities across the project, providing visible leadership on site and working closely with construction teams, contractors and key project stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead day-to-day HSE management across the project
  • Provide visible safety leadership across site activities
  • Manage and mentor site-based HSE personnel
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers and subcontractors
  • Oversee contractor HSE performance and compliance
  • Review SWMS, risk assessments and high-risk construction activities
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and assurance activities
  • Monitor project HSE performance, trends and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with project HSE systems, Australian WHS legislation and client requirements
  • Support the development of a proactive and positive safety culture across the project

About You

We're looking for an experienced construction safety professional who can operate effectively within a large and fast-paced project environment.

Ideally, you will have:

  • 5+ years' experience within health and safety
  • Previous experience working for a Tier 1 or major construction contractor
  • Experience delivering large-scale construction or infrastructure projects, ideally valued at $400m+
  • Previous experience in a Site HSE Manager, Safety Manager, Senior HSE Advisor or similar senior site-based position
  • Data centre, mission-critical, major building or complex infrastructure experience highly regarded
  • Strong contractor and subcontractor management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to influence construction teams and senior project stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and high-risk construction activities
  • Relevant tertiary or formal qualifications in WHS/OHS
  • Full Australian working rights
