Australia’s top fresh food handling business is looking for a customer-oriented Field Service Technician to join a national service team as the Adelaide specialist. You will support agricultural customers around South Australia with installation, maintenance and repair of FMCG and fresh produce handling and packaging systems.
You are a proud tradesperson who is passionate about coming up with solutions and problem-solving. The equipment is global state-of-the-art food handling systems.
We are looking for someone special who will be the local face of the business, providing top-tier service and support across the food growing areas of South Australia.
From installing labelling and automated food handling equipment to delivering high-quality customer training, you’ll ensure everything runs smoothly when the harvest is happening. Your previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Industrial Electrician or Automation technician may be perfect.
Provide on-site and remote support to customers for any technical issues, assisting with troubleshooting and resolving problems quickly to minimise downtime.
You will:
- Install and maintain FMCG packaging equipment on client sites
- Be an expert on food labelling, packaging and automation systems
- Deliver customer product training and after-sales advice
- Provide efficient and professional technical support and service
Qualifications & Skills:
- Trade Qualification: Engineering, mechanical, electrical or relevant technical qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience in servicing and maintaining labelling, grading and packaging machinery (ideally within the fruit and vegetable sector)
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, automation and machinery troubleshooting
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical customers
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose complex issues and find solutions quickly and efficiently
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25kg and work in varied environments, including heights (ladders, platforms), and at times, in confined spaces
- Previous experience working with fruit labelling, grading and packaging equipment is highly regarded
