Senior User Interface Designer

Overview
One of our long standing federal government clients are seeking a User Interface Designer to join a long term program for key enterprise areas. You will guide the research, selection, design, and implementation of user interfaces, ensuring they meet the agency's standards and deliver exceptional user experiences.
You will:
- Apply user-centred design (UX) methodologies to create simple, effective, and accessible solutions.
- Develop and enhance consistency in products, patterns, and processes.
- Provide expert advice on usability principles.
- Define and analyse complex user needs and business requirements, iterating designs to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Create and maintain UI design assets, frameworks, and governance.
- Undertake rapid prototyping and transform static designs into dynamic, interactive code structures.
- Establish and maintain a UI component library/design system to drive consistency and reduce rework.
- Facilitate workshops and engage stakeholders to collaboratively design services.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to validate designs and inform improvements.
Candidates with the following skills and experiences are encouraged to apply:
- A proven track record in User Interface Design, with 2+ years of experience in the field.
- A strong understanding of user experience (UX) disciplines and their interaction with design.
- Expertise in best practices for digital design, inclusive design, and accessibility standards.
- Familiarity with business systems, tools, and industry-leading design techniques.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, enabling you to engage effectively with stakeholders.
