Osborne Richardson are proud to partner with councils right across Australia, and we've got a cracking traffic engineering contract with Blacktown City Council in Western Sydney. Sitting in the City Transport team within City Assets, you'll be the technical go-to on traffic matters across one of Sydney's fastest-growing LGAs.

It's a hands-on senior technical role with no direct reports, so you can bring your A game to the work itself: DA traffic referrals, traffic studies, Local Traffic Committee reports and traffic facility design input.

What you'll be doing

  • Assessing the traffic aspects of Development Applications and turning around Development Services referrals on time
  • Preparing and reviewing Traffic Impact Assessments and undertaking major traffic studies
  • Investigating traffic requests and complaints, with site visits and technical assessments
  • Preparing reports and estimates for the Local Traffic Committee and Council
  • Providing design input on traffic facilities and keeping the traffic facilities Works Improvement Program on track
  • Running intersection and network modelling, and organising traffic surveys and crash data
  • Preparing grant submissions for traffic facilities and managing TfNSW funding claims
  • Briefing consultants and liaising with TfNSW, Police and other agencies

What you'll bring

  1. A degree in Civil Engineering acceptable to Engineers Australia, or an equivalent qualification in a related field
  2. A minimum of 5 years' related traffic engineering experience
  3. Development Application traffic assessment experience
  4. Traffic Impact Assessment and traffic study experience
  5. Strong traffic investigation and technical assessment skills, including intersection and network modelling
  6. Solid traffic engineering and transport planning knowledge, ideally with local government and Local Traffic Committee exposure
  7. A current Class C driver's licence

What's on offer: up to $80.61 per hour plus super, a contract from 16 November 2026 to 26 July 2027 with extension likely, 37.5 hours per week, based at the Blacktown Civic Centre.
