About the role

We are seeking experienced program management and procurement professionals at the APS6 level to be engaged as a Senior Program Officer with our Commonwealth Government client in Canberra, ACT. The successful candidate will support the establishment of a strategic procurement initiative, with a focus on program/project management, stakeholder coordination and process development.
 
An initial 6-month labour hire contract is on offer, with the possibility of an extension.

Please note: the successful candidate must be an Australian citizen with an existing NV1 security clearance, or higher.

Duties:

  • Maintain project schedules and work plans for procurement activities.
  • Track key milestones, deliverables and dependencies across the procurement process.
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholder engagement, including scheduling meetings, managing communications, and ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Monitor risks and issues, escalating as required and contributing to mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct due diligence assessments and facilitate approval processes.

Requisite skills/experience:

  • Proven ability to manage schedules, track milestones, and coordinate across multiple workstreams.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead system/process improvements and update guidance materials.
  • High-level attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Commonwealth Procurement Rules (desirable).
