Growing Luxury home builder opportunity

Your new company:Join a growing luxury residential builder delivering architecturally designed custom homes across Melbourne's premium eastern suburbs. Renowned for quality craftsmanship, exceptional attention to detail and a personalised client experience, this business is entering an exciting growth phase and is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to help drive its continued success.

Your new role:Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take ownership of the estimating function across a portfolio of high-end residential projects, from early feasibility through to contract award.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for bespoke residential builds
  • Managing tender submissions and pricing programmes from start to finish
  • Reviewing plans and specifications, identifying risks, gaps and buildability issues
  • Obtaining, analysing and negotiating subcontractor and supplier pricing
  • Producing feasibility studies, budgets and cost plans during design development
  • Presenting estimates and commercial recommendations to key stakeholders
  • Maintaining estimating systems, pricing databases and rate libraries
  • Mentoring junior estimating staff and supporting process improvements
  • Assisting project delivery teams with variations and cost-related queries

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Minimum 5 years' estimating experience within residential construction
  • Previous experience pricing custom-built, architect-designed or high-specification homes
  • Strong understanding of residential construction costs, trade rates and supplier markets
  • Proven ability to prepare accurate estimates from incomplete documentation
  • Experience managing tenders and negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Building, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or similar qualification, or equivalent industry experience
