What’s the role?
As the Senior Dietitian, you will play a key role in improving the health and wellbeing of community members through the development and delivery of innovative nutrition programs and services.
Working closely with Congress’ multidisciplinary team, you will:
• Provide culturally responsive clinical dietetic advice, assessment and intervention.
• Support clients to manage chronic conditions and improve their health outcomes.
• Develop, implement and evaluate nutrition programs and services.
• Contribute to community-led approaches that promote empowerment and self-management.
• Provide expert dietetic input within a primary healthcare setting.
• Build strong relationships with clients, colleagues and community stakeholders.
• Support service delivery across Central Australia, including travel to remote areas where required.
What you need to be successful
You will be an experienced dietitian who is passionate about culturally responsive care and improving health outcomes for Aboriginal people.
To be successful, you will have:
• Accreditation as an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) with Dietitians Australia, with current practising status.
• Extensive relevant clinical experience.
• A completed relevant postgraduate qualification.
• Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality dietetic assessment and intervention within a primary healthcare setting.
• Experience delivering care in a professional, culturally responsive and client-centred manner.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Sound knowledge of chronic disease self-management.
• Experience planning, implementing and evaluating services and programs using community empowerment principles.
• Highly developed communication skills, including the ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively in cross-cultural contexts.
• A comprehensive understanding of the health issues affecting Aboriginal people and a strong commitment to improving health outcomes.
• A current NT driver’s licence.
• The willingness and ability to travel to remote areas.
