We're partnering with one of Australia's leading technology organisations to appoint a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer into a highly regarded engineering team.

We're looking for a genuine technologist. Someone who loves understanding how systems work, enjoys solving complex problems and can troubleshoot across operating systems, networks, applications, cloud platforms and security technologies. You'll be responsible for engineering, integrating and improving critical cybersecurity capabilities across a large-scale enterprise environment.

The team is highly technical, collaborative and passionate about technology. They are seeking someone who shares that curiosity and enjoys exploring new tools, automation techniques and emerging technologies.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, implement and enhance enterprise cybersecurity capabilities
• Engineer, integrate and support security platforms and services
• Drive automation through scripting, APIs and Infrastructure-as-Code
• Troubleshoot and analyse complex systems across infrastructure, networks and applications
• Partner with cloud, infrastructure, architecture and engineering teams to embed security throughout the technology lifecycle
• Build integrations that improve visibility, monitoring and operational efficiency
• Support platform roadmaps, upgrades, continuous improvement initiatives and security uplift programs
• Contribute to the adoption of modern engineering practices and automation capabilities
• Evaluate and help shape emerging AI-driven security and engineering solutions

You'll bring:

• Strong experience across operating systems, networking and enterprise infrastructure
• The ability to dissect, troubleshoot and understand complex technology environments
• Experience with scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell or similar
• Exposure to cloud technologies, ideally AWS
• Experience integrating systems through APIs and automation frameworks
• Strong security engineering fundamentals across enterprise environments
• A passion for technology and continuous learning

While not essential, we'd love to speak with candidates who have experimented with:

• Generative AI
• Large Language Models (LLMs)
• AI agents
• MCPs (Model Context Protocol)
• Local or self-hosted models
• AI deployments within cloud environments
