Senior Copywriter

KEY POINTS WE FOUND
  • Join the Digital Experience team as a Senior Copywriter.
  • Create engaging content for the in-house blog focusing on beauty, health, and wellness.
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure timely and impactful content delivery.

About the Team

The Content team plays a critical role in shaping how customers connect with our brands online. Part of the Digital Customer Experience function, the team creates engaging, informative and commercially impactful content that helps customers discover, understand and trust our products and services. From SEO-driven articles and thought leadership to campaign content and digital storytelling, the team combines creativity with performance insights to deliver content that drives engagement, strengthens brand presence and supports business growth. Working collaboratively across Marketing, Ecommerce and Product teams, they ensure every piece of content delivers value to both customers and the business.

About the Role

We’re looking for a talented Senior Copywriter to join Chemist Warehouse’s Digital Experience team. In this role, your focus is on our in-house blog where we cover beauty, health and wellness. You will work in the Content team as the voice for the channel: bringing creativity, trend-led and strategic insights that resonate with our Chemist Warehouse community while working with stakeholders across the business to manage timelines. You’ll also help write content across the site, working alongside our UX and Design teams

Role Responsibilities

Reporting into the Content Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • End-to-end management of article production – writing copy, in-house photography, stakeholder sign offs and design.
  • Taking briefs from commercial partners and turning them into interesting and insightful articles that our community wants to read.
  • Produce engaging product-led articles based on emerging trends on social and search as well as insights from our buyers and marketing teams.
  • Pitch creative, culturally relevant content ideas – keeping a pulse on culture, trends and coming up with article concepts.
  • Develop clear, impactful, and engaging copy that brings to life Chemist Warehouse’s brand voice and vision across our blog, website and digital marketing channels.
  • Working closely with suppliers, account managers, compliance, and UX teams to ensure all articles pass required checks and are published on schedule.
  • Building relationships with stakeholders across the business to gather insights to inform article concepts based on product trends, data and analytics, or customer needs.

Who Are We Looking For?

You’re a natural storyteller and creative thinker – passionate about crafting meaningful content to engage, educate and inspire audiences. You scroll socials, subscribe to Substacks, love longform and use it to continually improve your own writing. You’re the friend everyone goes to for the latest health, wellness and lifestyle trends. You understand how to translate brand strategy into meaningful, clever, on-brand copy and connect with our customers through conversations of product discovery.

  • 5+ years' experience in copywriting or content creation (agency or in-house). You understand what goes behind creating editorial content for a brand.
  • A tertiary qualification in Communications, Creative Writing, Marketing or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to manage competing tasks and deadlines and use work management tools (Asana or similar).
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively and foster relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, particularly if you’ve done this in a highly regulated field.
  • A strong understanding of grammar, style conventions, brand voice and knack for clear, clean and clever language.
  • An innate ability to find an angle and create a story out any brief – lipstick trends, menopause support and hair loss treatment briefs have all crossed our desk recently.
  • Ability to write for a variety of audiences: we have millions of customers, and we want to write a variety of stories that resonate with them.
  • Background in editorial copywriting or experience producing beauty, health-related (wellness), sports or lifestyle content.

Nice to have

You’re creative and a writer at heart, but these will help you in the role:

  • Content creation skills – experience with lo-fi photography or producing content for other marketing channels.
  • Experience in campaign management or marketing strategy.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and producing optimised content for web.
  • CMS experience so you know what to brief our Digital Producers.
