Your new role
As a Secondary DesignEngineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of protection,control, and communication systems across high-voltage infrastructure projects.
Working within amultidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the development of compliant,reliable, and integrated designs. While substation projects will form a corepart of your work, you will also be exposed to broader transmission and gridinfrastructure.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing anddelivering protection and control systems across HV infrastructure (typically132kV330kV+)
- Supporting thedevelopment of detailed design deliverables including schematics, wiringdiagrams, and panel layouts
- Developing protectionphilosophies, relay settings, and coordination studies
- Contributing to SCADAand communication system design and integration
- Ensuring designs meetperformance, reliability, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinating withprimary, civil, and structural teams to ensure integrated design outcomes
- Supporting systemintegration, testing, and commissioning activities
- Assisting in resolvingtechnical challenges and improving design efficiency and quality
- Maintaining compliancewith Australian standards and project specifications
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree in ElectricalEngineering
- Experience in HVsecondary design across infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge ofprotection and control systems
- Experience withprotection schemes and relay configuration
- Familiarity withAustralian standards and grid requirements
- Experience in EPC,utilities, or engineering consultancies
- Strong communicationand teamwork skills
