Scrum Master – D365
Contract for 12 months with possible extension| Brisbane CBD | Hybrid Working
We're partnering with a major Queensland Government client to recruit an experienced Scrum Master. In this role you will be responsible for or supporting Agile delivery across multiple pods, helping Dev Leads, Product Owners, architects, and stakeholders maintain cadence, clear priorities, and disciplined ways of working.
What you'll be doing
- Support Agile delivery across three delivery pods. Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and showcases, helping teams apply consistent yet flexible Agile practices.
- Work closely with Dev Leads, Product Owners, and technical teams to identify cross-pod dependencies. Maintain full visibility of blockers, risks, assumptions, and constraints.
- Assist Product Owners and Analysts to maintain clear, prioritised, and sprint-ready backlogs using Azure DevOps. Track sprint progress, velocity trends, carry-over, and delivery risks.
- Drive retrospectives to optimise delivery flow, quality, and predictability. Promote a culture of transparency, accountability, and early escalation of delivery issues.
What we're looking for
- Significant experience working as a Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Lead, or Iteration Manager within complex, enterprise technology environments.
- A proven ability to support multiple delivery teams simultaneously without creating bottlenecks or overriding the accountability of Dev Leads and Product Owners.
- Advanced experience using Azure DevOps for backlog management, delivery tracking, dashboards, and dependency mapping.
- Strong understanding of how to balance agile delivery practices with the practical governance, testing gates, and release assurance needs of a large public sector organisation.
- Exceptional facilitation skills to resolve ambiguity and drive clear actions across technical teams, architects, and business SMEs.
