Your new company
Our client is a respected Australian engineering business that designs, manufactures and supplies high-quality hydraulic and automation solutions to customers across industrial, manufacturing, mining and mobile equipment sectors. With a strong reputation for technical excellence and customer service, they are seeking a technically capable Sales Engineer to support continued growth across their customer base.This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working directly with customers, solving complex technical problems, and influencing commercial outcomes.

Your new role
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will work closely with customers to understand their hydraulic system requirements and develop practical engineering solutions. You will manage existing accounts while identifying opportunities for growth across new and existing customers. The role combines technical engineering expertise with consultative sales, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both problem-solving and relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with OEM, industrial and end-user customers
  • Provide technical advice on hydraulic systems, components and applications
  • Prepare quotations, proposals and technical specifications
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer performance and operational efficiency
  • Support project delivery from concept through to implementation
  • Conduct site visits, system reviews and product demonstrations
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Drive business development activities within your assigned territory

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Mechanical, Mechatronic or Hydraulic Engineering qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, fluid power, cylinders, pumps, valves or hydraulic power units
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic design, troubleshooting and application engineering
  • The ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A customer-focused mindset with a genuine interest in solving engineering challenges
  • Previous experience in a sales, applications, project or field engineering capacity will be highly regarded
