A leading gold mining operation in Western Australia is seeking an experienced S26 Senior Field Assistant to join its exploration team. This position offers the opportunity to take a leadership role in drilling and exploration programs while working within a high-performing and safety-focused environment.
Your new role
As an S26 Senior Field Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising daily field activities across active drilling programs
- Providing leadership and mentoring to Field Assistants and contractors
- Overseeing RC and diamond drilling operations
- Coordinating sample collection, management and dispatch
- Conducting drill pad inspections and ensuring work areas remain compliant
- Assisting geologists with mapping, sampling and data collection activities
- Monitoring QA/QC procedures and maintaining accurate field records
- Ensuring exploration activities comply with relevant legislation and site procedures
- Supporting operational planning and field logistics
- Promoting a strong safety culture and leading by example in the field
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience as a Senior Field Assistant, Senior Exploration Technician or similar leadership role
- S26 Statutory Supervisor qualification
- Strong understanding of RC and diamond drilling operations
- Experience leading field crews and managing contractors
- Knowledge of exploration sampling, QA/QC and data collection processes
- Current manual driver's licence
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to safety and compliance in a mining environment
