Job Description

Use your return-to-work and injury management expertise to support positive recovery outcomes within a large government organisation.

  • Temporary opportunity – approximately 3 months

  • Flexible hybrid working arrangements

  • Suitable for Central Coast and Newcastle-based candidates

peoplefusion is partnering with a large government organisation to recruit an experienced Return to Work Coordinator. Working within People and Culture, you’ll support employees recovering from workplace injury or illness and coordinate safe, sustainable return-to-work outcomes.

About the Role

Working as part of an experienced team, you will manage return-to-work and injury management matters across a diverse workforce.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating return-to-work and rehabilitation programs

  • Managing workplace injury matters and supporting employees through recovery

  • Liaising with managers, medical practitioners and rehabilitation providers

  • Reviewing medical reports and assessments

  • Providing advice on workers compensation and injury management

  • Maintaining accurate case documentation and records

  • Working autonomously within relevant legislation, policies and procedures

The role requires a strong level of independent decision-making and stakeholder engagement.

About You

You will ideally bring:

  • Significant Return to Work, Workers Compensation or Injury Management experience

  • Experience managing rehabilitation programs and injury cases

  • Strong knowledge of Workers Compensation legislation

  • Ability to interpret medical reports and assessments

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • A professional, organised and solutions-focused approach

  • WorkCover accreditation as a rehabilitation coordinator

  • Current NSW Class C driver's licence

Registered Nurse qualifications and immunisation accreditation are desirable but not essential.
