Retail Manager (Full-time) – The Trident Collective Pty Ltd t/a The Trident Fish and Grill

The Trident Fish and Grill grew out of a family seafood business founded in 1984 and has built a strong name for fresh seafood, consistent quality and great flavour. Since 2019, our Alstonville store at 85 Main Street, Alstonville NSW 2477 has been a regular spot for locals and visitors to the Northern Rivers. We are open seven days a week, serving fresh seafood, grilled dishes, burgers and salads.
The Trident Collective Pty Ltd t/a The Trident Fish and Grill is seeking a capable Retail Manager to take charge of the Alstonville store. You will protect the quality and service our customers expect and help the business keep growing.
This is a full-time position with a salary of AUD 75,000 to AUD 85,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on experience. You will be responsible for the store's day-to-day performance: product standards, the customer experience, and leading a reliable, well-trained team.
What you'll be doing
- Manage the store's daily operations from opening to close, keeping service smooth and efficient and in line with The Trident's standards.
- Recruit, onboard and train staff so the team stays capable, customer-focused and delivers a consistent brand experience.
- Prepare and manage staff rosters that balance labour costs with service quality across all trading periods.
- Monitor daily sales, margins and costs, prepare performance reports, and put strategies in place to meet revenue and profit targets.
- Oversee supplier relationships, purchasing and inventory control to keep stock accurate, fresh and cost-effective.
- Plan and carry out local marketing, promotions and in-store activities to build customer engagement and repeat visits.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, WHS and store operating procedures.
- Handle customer feedback and complaints promptly and professionally to protect the brand's reputation.
- Work with the business owners and management to keep store operations aligned with business objectives and policies.
- Lead continuous improvement in efficiency, staff engagement and customer retention.
What we're looking for
- Preferably have a Diploma-level qualification in business, retail or hospitality management
- A minimum of 2–3 years' experience as a Retail Manager or in a similar management role, ideally in food retail or hospitality
- Hands-on experience with budgets, rosters, inventory and sales reporting
- Confident leadership, clear communication and a strong customer service focus
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work well with others
- Food Safety Supervisor certificate (NSW), or willingness to complete one
- Flexibility to work a 7-day roster, including weekends and split shifts
- Able to work on-site at our Alstonville store and willing to commute or relocate if needed
