About the Role
Provide high-quality post-anaesthetic and perioperative nursing care across a range of hospital settings within Darling Downs Health. You will be responsible for delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred care within Post Anaesthetic Care Units (PACU), ensuring optimal recovery outcomes for patients following surgical and procedural interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive post-anaesthetic nursing care
- Assess and monitor patients during the immediate recovery phase
- Recognise and respond to clinical deterioration
- Administer medications and pain management interventions
- Collaborate with anaesthetists, surgeons, theatre staff, and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Support patient safety and quality standards within perioperative services
- Provide support across broader perioperative services where required
- Contribute to Anaesthetic, Scrub Scout, and Endoscopy services within scope and experience (highly desirable)

What you'll need
- Current AHPRA Registration (Registered Nurse Division 1)
- Minimum 1 year recent PACU/Recovery nursing experience
- Experience in Anaesthetics, Scrub Scout, and Endoscopy highly desirable
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary perioperative teams
- Australian working rights (non-sponsorship position due to contract timeframe)
