PACU Registered Nurse - RN – Multiple Locations | Darling Downs Health

About the Role

Provide high-quality post-anaesthetic and perioperative nursing care across a range of hospital settings within Darling Downs Health. You will be responsible for delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred care within Post Anaesthetic Care Units (PACU), ensuring optimal recovery outcomes for patients following surgical and procedural interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive post-anaesthetic nursing care
  • Assess and monitor patients during the immediate recovery phase
  • Recognise and respond to clinical deterioration
  • Administer medications and pain management interventions
  • Collaborate with anaesthetists, surgeons, theatre staff, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Support patient safety and quality standards within perioperative services
  • Provide support across broader perioperative services where required
  • Contribute to Anaesthetic, Scrub Scout, and Endoscopy services within scope and experience (highly desirable)

What you'll need

  • Current AHPRA Registration (Registered Nurse Division 1)
  • Minimum 1 year recent PACU/Recovery nursing experience
  • Experience in Anaesthetics, Scrub Scout, and Endoscopy highly desirable
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary perioperative teams
  • Australian working rights (non-sponsorship position due to contract timeframe)
