The Opportunity

Join a leading organisation in a role that will strengthen your legal career.

  • Duration: 3 months
  • Arrangement: Full time (hybrid)
  • Location: Brisbane

About You

You are an experienced employment lawyer with a minimum of 5 years' experience, bringing a strong track record from private practice or in-house roles within large organisations.

Your Experience and Expertise:

  • Extensive experience in employment and workplace relations law, preferably within the public sector
  • Strong understanding of public sector employment frameworks, including the Public Sector Act
  • Significant experience managing and advising on disciplinary processes and employment-related decision making
  • Expertise in handling employee grievances, complaints and workplace dispute resolution matters
  • Demonstrated experience advising on misconduct, integrity and corruption-related issues
  • Strong background in performance management and employee conduct matters
  • Experience interpreting and advising on industrial instruments, awards, enterprise agreements and employment conditions
  • In-depth knowledge of public sector employment legislation and associated regulatory requirements
  • Proven experience conducting and advising on workplace investigations
  • Expertise in discrimination, equal opportunity, anti-bullying, human rights and workplace behaviour matters
  • Experience advising on privacy, information management and confidentiality issues arising in employment contexts
  • Ability to provide strategic and practical legal advice to senior executives and key decision-makers
  • Experience managing a large and complex caseload while maintaining high standards of client service
  • Excellent drafting skills, particularly in relation to disciplinary correspondence, investigation outcomes and grievance responses
  • Strong capability to deliver commercially focused and risk-based advice that supports operational outcomes
  • Ability to identify legal, reputational and organisational risks and provide pragmatic recommendations
