The South Australia State Emergency Service (SA SES) is seeking a motivated and professional Project Support Officer to join our Infrastructure and Assets team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to projects that support the provision, maintenance and management of infrastructure, assets and equipment relied upon by staff and volunteers across South Australia.

About the role

Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure and Assets, you will provide project coordination and administrative support across a range of infrastructure, asset and procurement activities. You will play an important role in supporting project delivery, maintaining accurate records and asset information, coordinating governance processes and ensuring stakeholders receive responsive and professional support.

Working closely with staff, volunteers, suppliers, government agencies and other stakeholders, you will help ensure critical business processes are delivered efficiently and effectively to support organisational capability and operational readiness.

The core responsibilities of this role will include, but are not limited to:

  • providing project coordination and administrative support to assist the successful delivery of infrastructure and asset initiatives
  • supporting procurement activities and contract administration, ensuring compliance with SA SES and government procurement requirements
  • maintaining asset and equipment records, including asset registers, audits and inventory management processes
  • coordinating governance and business support activities, including meeting administration, agenda preparation, minutes and action tracking, and
  • delivering responsive stakeholder support and service, while maintaining accurate records and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Operational duties

As an emergency assistance and rescue service, our people undertake duties across our routine business functions, as well as participating in operational duties during event activations. This provides a unique opportunity to not only use the skills and knowledge you have in your daily occupation, but also to develop tactical skills while being part of the emergency response.

Operational duties may be rostered across mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Staff who are rostered on operational duties are remunerated appropriately and in accordance with the relevant industrial instruments.
