About our Client
Our client is a well-established project management and advisory firm with a long-standing presence in Perth. Its WA team works with private developers, state agencies, local government and universities, and covers everything from feasibility and business cases through to delivering major buildings.

The Opportunity
This role exists to lead and grow the buildings project management capability in Perth. As Project Director, you will be the senior client advisor on complex buildings projects, from early strategy through design, procurement, construction and operational transition.

Alongside project leadership, you will lead people, advise clients and develop new business, which gives you direct influence over the practice's pipeline, reputation and market presence in WA.

Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Governance

• Lead complex buildings projects through every stage, from strategy and design to procurement, construction, commissioning and handover
• Provide Project Director level governance across cost, program, risk, quality, safety and procurement
• Keep programmes on track, including delay mitigation and extension of time assessment

Commercial Accountability

• Own project financial performance and delivery against contractual obligations
• Protect margin and client outcomes through disciplined reporting and commercial judgement
• Make sure every project is delivered with sound governance and is defensible

Client Advisory & Market Presence

• Act as a trusted advisor, helping clients make informed decisions at every stage
• Add strategic value beyond traditional project management by drawing on the firm's wider advisory and assurance services
• Represent the business across the Perth market and build lasting client relationships

Team & Business Growth

• Build, mentor and lead a high performing team of Project Managers and Senior Project Managers
• Contribute to pursuits, business development and growth of the WA buildings portfolio
• Build a delivery culture grounded in accountability, capability and career development

About You
This suits an experienced Project Director or Senior Project Manager from a consultancy or client side background who is ready to lead a practice as well as projects.

• Tertiary qualifications in construction, engineering, architecture, project management or a related discipline
• 10+ years delivering buildings projects in a consultancy and/or client side development environment
• A strong record of managing project financials, reporting and contractual obligations
• Confident operating with autonomy at a strategic, market facing level, and comfortable carrying commercial accountability
• An established people leader who builds engaged teams and develops talent
• Credible with clients and stakeholders, with sound judgement and a practical, solutions focused approach
