Chelgrave is seeking an experienced Construction Project Coordinator for a well known FMCG business in Melbourne

About the Role
You'll coordinate day-to-day construction and mechanical installation activities for a significant evaporator upgrade project, working within a live, operating industrial facility. This is a hands-on coordination role focused on ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to ongoing site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily construction and mechanical installation activities, including contractor work fronts and interfaces
- Run daily toolbox talks and ensure construction activities comply with site safety requirements
- Coordinate and manage required safety permits prior to commencement of works
- Liaise with existing Operations and Maintenance teams on access, isolations and shutdown requirements
- Monitor contractor progress, workmanship and compliance with approved drawings, procedures and project requirements
- Identify and resolve day-to-day construction issues, interfaces and constraints, escalating significant matters to the Project Manager
- Coordinate sequencing of works to minimise disruption to ongoing site operations
- Maintain permit records and support the site permit process, compliance tracking and audit requirements
- Support and enforce site housekeeping standards across construction work areas
- Support inspections, testing, commissioning and handover activities
- Coordinate and support close-out of project and operations actions arising from installation and commissioning
About You
- Experience in construction, mechanical installation or site coordination, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Construction White Card (essential)
- Familiarity with Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) procedures
- Strong understanding of construction safety, permit systems and contractor management
- Familiarity with safety management systems such as ENABLON (desirable)
- Strong communication, coordination and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively within a live, operating industrial facility
