We at NW People have partnered with a Global leader within the Packaging Manufacturing sector. They currently have an exciting opportunity for a strategic people leader to join their busy operation based in Sydney's South West.

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing overall production operations and providing ongoing support to the team to ensure safety, quality, production, and cost targets are consistently achieved and continuously improved in line with established quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementing continuous improvement frameworks to identify and ensure production teams meet performance objectives while building capacity for future growth.
  • Effectively plan and co-ordinate all equipment with both short and longer term schedules to optimise labour utilisation and maximise onsite throughput.
  • Provide strong leadership, direction, and support to the operations team to deliver business objectives.
  • Foster and further develop a positive workplace culture that promotes employee involvement, accountability, and mutual respect.
  • Assume full responsibility for site operations in the absence of the Site Manager.
  • Lead and oversee production across all shifts ensuring consistent standards of performance, safety, and engagement across all teams.
  • Direct and monitor the implementation adherence to, all legal, statutory, and OHS&E policies, systems, and practices

About you:

  • Advanced Cert, Diploma or Degree in Manufacturing or Engineering is preferred.
  • 5-7 years' experience in a senior manufacturing management role (production management is desirable)
  • Leadership, influencing, negotiation, change management, conflict resolution and computer literacy skills
  • Experience at a management or delivering continuous improvement projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Understanding OHS&E standards and legal requirements and responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, build and maintain effective working relationships, both internally and externally of the organisation.
  • Solid experience working as part of a customer focussed organisation, with a strong emphasis on both internal and external customer service
  • Experience coaching, leading, managing and mentoring effective teams, allocating resources effectively and ensuring a motivated and customer focussed team.
