Your new company
This organisation operates within a large-scale, asset-intensive environment, supporting critical operations across multiple sites throughout Queensland and New South Wales. Their procurement function partners closely with business stakeholders to deliver strategic sourcing, commercial outcomes and supplier performance across a broad Infrastructure Services portfolio. Due to increased demand within their procurement team, they are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join their Brisbane-based team on a 6-month contract.
Your new role
As a Procurement Specialist within the Infrastructure Services category, you will play a key role in delivering sourcing, contracting and supplier management activities across a diverse portfolio of service-based categories. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will provide commercial support, lead procurement initiatives and identify opportunities to create value, reduce risk and improve supplier performance.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading end-to-end sourcing and tendering activities across Infrastructure Services categories
  • Developing sourcing strategies and supporting the implementation of category plans
  • Conducting commercial evaluations, negotiations and contract award recommendations
  • Preparing contract documentation and supporting contract implementation activities
  • Managing supplier performance, contract variations and governance requirements
  • Identifying and delivering value creation opportunities including cost reduction, productivity improvements and risk mitigation initiatives
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers
  • Supporting spend analysis, market assessments and commercial reporting activities
  • Ensuring procurement activities comply with company policies, standards and governance requirements

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong procurement and sourcing experience within a complex operational environment. You will also demonstrate:

  • Experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management or contract management
  • Demonstrated experience leading tender processes and commercial negotiations
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and procurement systems
  • Exposure to mining, resources, infrastructure, construction, utilities, energy or industrial sectors will be highly regarded
  • Experience managing Infrastructure Services or services-based contracts is desirable
  • Knowledge of ERP and procurement platforms such as SAP will be advantageous
