Our client

An ASX-listed mining producer with a growing portfolio of operating assets and development projects. The finance function plays a central role in shaping capital allocation and strategic decisions across the business.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Principal plays a pivotal role within a high-performing corporate team. You will maintain and evolve the financial models behind critical business decisions, delivering data-driven insights and recommendations that guide senior leadership. The role suits someone who prioritises effectively, communicates with clarity, and adapts quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain financial models to evaluate scenarios, plans, and decisions, articulating the risk-reward proposition
  • Deliver ad-hoc and sensitivity analysis to support annual plans, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning
  • Continuously improve models in line with best practice
  • Develop a deep understanding of key value drivers across the value chain
  • Apply industry trends and market dynamics to inform analysis
  • Prepare Board materials that communicate complex analysis with clarity and impact
  • Present findings in a way that engages and influences stakeholders

About you

You are a technically strong FP&A professional with experience translating corporate model outputs into clear recommendations for senior leadership.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • CA, CPA, or CFA qualification, with a degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline
  • Extensive FP&A experience, including ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning cycles
  • Advanced financial modelling skills, with a track record building and maintaining complex models from the ground up
  • Experience running scenario and sensitivity analysis to support capital allocation and strategic decisions
  • Sound understanding of the value drivers within a business and how they flow through to financial outcomes
  • Experience preparing Board and executive-level materials, ideally within an ASX-listed environment
